The senators went around the table and nominated:
 Michael Cabrera
Monika Mala
Sean McDonald
Taylor Anderson  
Carmen Gilbert was also nominated, but she declined the nomination. 
Sen. Sean McDonald is Senator of the Year, as voted by the senate.

The interim committee for spring break will be:  Sens. Carmen Gilbert, Michael Cabrera, Gabriel Matute, Sean McDonald and Noah Millett.  Millett was chosen as chair of the committee.

There was a tie when the senate voted on the amendment to change “person” to “senator-elect” for who is eligible to run for speaker of the senate.  The speaker of the senate voted no to break the tie. Now, any person can run for speaker of the senate. The entire bill is approved.

The senate voted to re-open the discussion of S. B. 75-57, a bill that establishes the rules for the first senate meeting of the next session.

The senate approved S. B. 75-65, a bill that amends the senate rules. The amendment allows the senate to appoint a parliamentarian from outside the membership of the senate. Before the amendment was passed, the parliamentarian could only be a senator.
